Hi All,
I am in my fourth week of P90X, almost done with the first Phase of the program. It has been a challenge to get up a 5AM every day to bring it, but I feel great when I do! I have not missed a single workout.
I have had some people ask me "What motivates you to do it?". My answer can be summed up in one word "FAMILY". I come from a family with a long history of heart disease. My father died at an early age of heart failure and I am built just like him. I desire to be around for a long time to provide for and protect my family. So I must make wise choices.
So going into P90X, I asked my kids and my wife to color in posters and then draw a picture of their favorite thing to do with Dad. Those posters have become my inspiration wall where I work out. Every time I press play I see the reason why I need to work hard, Right there on the wall. I can no longer be passive in life, I must TAKE LIFE ON!! No one is going to do it for me, I must choose.

Two Weeks In
Hi All,
Well, I am two weeks into my P90X adventure. I have been diligent to press play every morning at 5am and to work hard for each session. It is rough some days, but I always feel good after getting through it!
After the first week, I weighed myself and I was down 3 pounds! I thought, "thats great, if I do 3 lbs a week, then I will meet my weight loss goal easily". Then the end of week two came and I weighed myself again. NO CHANGE!!! At first it was a bit of a let down, but then I took my measurements again. :)
In two weeks I had taken 1.25" off my waist, 1" off my hips, 1.5" off my chest and 1" off each thigh!! So what I learned is to not be tied to the scale. I am reshaping my body a little at a time and weight is not the total picture.
Muscle weighs more than Fat, so I am more determined than ever to stay on the Nutrition Plan and keep pressing play every day. As always, I hope my journey will encourage others to eat right and get fit!!

P90X Kickoff
Hi All,
For those of you who are unaware, I started P90X on September 13, 2010 and I have completed the first 5 days.
My whole mindset behind the desire to take on a workout like P90X is to be Healthy. Honestly I got tired of always being tired. I am 43 lbs over weight and carrying around all that extra poundage is a big drain. I just do not have the energy that I once had. I have tried diets in the past, but they may work for a while, but the weight always seemed to come back. So finally, I said to myself, "Self, it is time to change your lifestyle in a dramatic positive way, not only for yourself, but for your family."
So my P90X journey has begun and I will be blogging about it throughout. P90X for me a start to a new lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise. Yes, I know it will not be easy and at times painful, but I am dedicated to pressing the play button every day and following the nutrition plan as closely as I can.
If there is any way I can motivate or inspire other to do the same, better yet.
